2017 has been an exhilarating year for the virtuoso singer-songwriter, Matt Carstens. Kicking off the year with 2 stellar performances at River Republic and Up the Creek and a tour of the South Coast, he also released his debut album (2D Heart) and numerous music videos.

In June Francois van Coke announced the #VanCokeColab that offers young musicians the once in a lifetime chance to collaborate on their own original track. “Broken Society” by Matt Carstens was selected as the winner and soon Matt and Francois headed into the studio to put a more diverse spin on the track.

“It was a massive privilege to work with Matt.  He is an unbelievable young talent, singer, and songwriter.  I think we made something really cool together and I can’t wait for the world to hear the song,” says Francois.

The track was recorded at RedBull Studios in Cape Town and produced by Dolf Willemse. The song will make it’s radio debut on Jacaranda 94.2 FM on 25 October at 19:40. Get Broken Society here on iTunes and Google PlayWatch broken society here
